Mehedi Mostafa is a Bangladeshi filmmaker. His films often observe the transformation of urban spaces and the emotional landscapes of the people who inhabit them. He studied architecture in Dhaka before joining the Mumbai-based film school Whistling Woods International, where he completed his diploma in filmmaking with a specialization in direction in 2017. His short documentary Fantasy in a Concrete Jungle (2023) was selected in the Lab Competition section of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, where it won the Lab Student Prize. The film was also screened at several international festivals including Tampere Film Festival, Fribourg International Film Festival, Encounters Film Festival, Short Film Week Regensburg, and Dharamshala International Film Festival. He has participated in programs such as Docedge Kolkata, UnionDocs Summer Documentary Lab, and the Locarno South Asia Industry Academy. He is currently working on a documentary project and developing a fiction feature.
